Message from the VP of Recruitment
Welcome to what is about to become the best four years of your life. Speaking for the Panhellenic Community, We are all so thankful that you chose to spend the next four years at The University of Virginia. At The University, you will soon learn that our community values our tradition of self-governance. This will allow you to become more involved in clubs and other organizations along the way and maintain an active role in deciding the way our University is run. Joining the Greek Community is one way to do just that.
Being a part of sorority life at UVA is the continuation of a prized tradition– not only at our school but globally. To be a part of a Greek Chapter means to create a family from all over the world. At our University alone, 16 chapters and 2200 women make up our Panhellenic community. We donate thousands of service hours, raise thousands of dollars towards philanthropies, and our members make up the leaders of our University every year. Because of these contributions, being part of a Greek chapter will open doors to many opportunities and help you develop friendships you will never forget.
I hope that you take advantage of the opportunities that The Inter-Sorority Council has to offer by attending one of the Go Greek Sessions during the fall and eventually participating in Formal Recruitment in January. I have loved being a part of the supportive network that the ISC provides. I came into first year with no idea what I wanted to get involved in and now I cannot imagine my four years of college without being a part of Panhellenic. I hope that joining a house within the ISC can help make UVA an even better home away-from-home for you like it did for me.
Sincerely,
Abby Decker
Inter-Sorority Council VP of Recruitment
